Volunteer Teachers Needed
Help Children Encounter Christ
Our parish Faith Formation program serves children in kindergarten through sixth grade by partnering with families to nurture a living, lasting Catholic faith. We are seeking caring, faith-filled adults to serve as volunteer teachers and guides for our young disciples here in Gillette.
This ministry is more than teaching lessons — it is accompanying children as they grow in prayer, mercy, and relationship with Jesus.
Our Mission
Faith Formation is centered on the family and rooted in hope. We seek to inspire children and their families to live the Catholic faith with meaning, joy, and lifelong commitment.
Through prayer, service, and community, we help children:
- Know they are loved by God
- Learn how to pray and trust Him
- Practice compassion and mercy
- Grow in faith alongside their families
Volunteer teachers play a vital role in helping children experience the beauty of the faith in real and lasting ways.
What Volunteer Teachers Do
You do not need to be a professional teacher — only a willing heart and love for the faith.
Volunteer teachers:
- Guide a small group of children in faith-based lessons
- Pray with and for students
- Foster a welcoming, joyful learning environment
- Encourage children to live their faith at home
- Partner with families in the faith journey
Many volunteers serve as part of a teaching team, so no one serves alone.
Time Commitment
We strive to make volunteering realistic and sustainable.
- Weekly or biweekly sessions during the formation year
- Preparation time is minimal — materials are provided
- Flexible scheduling options when possible
- Opportunities to team teach or assist in a classroom
If you have limited availability, we can help find a role that fits your schedule.
We Support You
Our parish equips volunteers so you can focus on relationships and faith, not stress.
Volunteers receive:
- Ready-to-use lesson plans and materials
- Training and guidance
- Ongoing staff support
- Safe environment training assistance
- A welcoming community of fellow catechists
You will never be asked to serve without preparation and support.
Who Should Volunteer?
You may be called to serve if you:
- Love working with children
- Desire to share the Catholic faith
- Want to grow in your own faith
- Feel called to serve the parish community
Parents, grandparents, young adults, and retirees are all welcome. Many volunteers find that serving in Faith Formation deepens their own relationship with God.
The Impact You Make
The faith experiences children have today shape the people they become tomorrow. The prayers they learn, the love they experience, and the example they see in you can stay with them for a lifetime. By volunteering, you help plant seeds of faith that God will continue to grow. Fill out the form below if you would like to serve!
